April 11 - 17 is National Telecommunicators Week
April 11, 2021
Each year the second full week of April is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week to recognize the men and women who serve as a vital part of JSO’s day-to-day operations. These Police Emergency Communications Officers, who serve in a civilian role,
are the “lifeline between people in need and our first responders.”

They are there to answer the call, day and night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

In 2020, 1,435,903 calls or texts were received in Jacksonville’s 9-1-1 Center. Of that number, 745,292 were received via the Emergency 9-1-1 line; 689,269 were received on the non-emergency number, 630.0500; and 1,342 were Text to 911.

Please help us in thanking all of our Dispatchers and 9-1-1 Call Takers! We appreciate all that they do for us at the JSO and for our community.
