JSO to Focus on Bicyclist and Pedestrian Safety with Traffic Deployments (Posted November 24, 2025)
Starting Monday, December 1, 2025, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will conduct high visibility enforcement details throughout Duval County to combat the dangers experienced by both bicyclists and pedestrians.
The high visibility traffic enforcements will run through the beginning of May 2026. They will be held in several high traffic areas across the city.
Enforcement efforts will focus on educating drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. However, violations may result in warnings or citations depending on the circumstances.
The $113,520 traffic enforcement contract funding these efforts was awarded by the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM) in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
