Benwah Wilson, 25, a convicted felon, is facing multiple charges after Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) patrol officers and Narcotics Unit detectives found nearly 70 pounds of marijuana in his Westside home.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, District 5 patrol officers responded to a report there had been multiple shots fired near Wilcox Street and West 5th Street. Officers saw Wilson’s home with multiple bullet holes and conducted a protective sweep. While conducting this protective sweep, officers saw 68.48 pounds of marijuana in plain view. There were also multiple bullet holes through the interior walls.
The officers enlisted the help of JSO's Narcotics Unit detectives to complete a search warrant. During the search warrant, detectives also found two firearms (a Glock and a rifle) and more than $2,000 in cash.
Wilson is facing multiple charges: Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Felony Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Knowingly Renting a Structure for the Sale of Narcotics. All of these charges are felonies.
