Detectives arrested 30-year-old Shawn Walker for Murder on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, after he shot and killed a man last November.
On Saturday, November 1, 2025, District 1 patrol officers responded to a business on Brentwood Avenue near Golfair Boulevard after receiving a report there had been a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Kenance Bronson II with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, but sadly he passed away. He had just turned 38 years old four days prior.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Homicide Unit began an investigation. Through the investigative efforts, detectives identified Walker as a person of interest. Ater reviewing footage and interviewing witnesses, detectives named Walker as the suspect in Bronson’s murder.
Detectives arrested Walker on Tuesday, June 16. He is now behind bars in the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility (Duval County jail).
