17K Possibly Fatal Doses of Fentanyl, Two Guns Recovered in Biltmore Bust
This summer, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) detectives noticed illegal activity surrounding a Biltmore warehouse off Old Kings Road. Criminals used the warehouse, which was attached to other businesses, to sell drugs.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives discovered there were firearms inside the building. A search warrant was issued, and JSO's SWAT Team served the warrant on Friday, August 1, 2025.
The following was uncovered during the search:
- 34.7 grams of Fentanyl (17,000+ potentially fatal doses)
- 7.2 grams of Flakka
- 2.9 grams of Crack Cocaine
- 1.6 grams of Ecstasy
- 2.7 grams of Marijuana
- Two firearms (AK47-style rife and a handgun)
Four people are facing charges in this case:
- La’Kenya Leavell (37)
- Comfort Harris (34)
- Dushawn Powell (36)
- and Todd Thornton (35)
