Woman Arrested for Illegally Dumping Tires into Roadway

In October 2025, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) received a complaint that a woman, later identified as Kayla Stone, 37, was illegally dumping tires from a U-Haul onto the right-of-way along West Monroe Street. Stone had dumped 40 tires from the truck before she saw the
witness watching her; she then got back into the truck and drove off, with more tires bouncing out of the cargo area and onto the road.

JSO detectives quickly tracked the U-Haul down and found Stone with almost 100 more tires she planned to dump. She was arrested for Illegal Dumping from a Motor Vehicle over 500 Pounds, which is a felony.

The City of Jacksonville Solid Waste Division took the remaining tires for proper disposal.
