Operation Friday Night Lights Results in Eight Arrests and More Than 40 Citations Issued
July 20, 2026
On Monday, July 20, 2026, Sheriff T.K. Waters shared the results of “Operation Friday Night Lights” during a news briefing.

On Friday, July 17, 2026, officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) once again partnered with the Florida Highway Patrol to crack down on an illegal car meetup scheduled in Riverside.

In just one night, there were eight arrests, including two drivers who were driving under the influence. Five motorcycles and three cars were impounded. Officers issued a total of 42 traffic citations.

JSO will never interfere with car enthusiasts who come together for safe and legal fun. But when those meetups turn to dangerous stunt driving, trust JSO will step in and put a stop to it.
