On Saturday, August 23, 2025, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) District 2 patrol officers arrived at a home on Peach Drive and found 55-year-old Lilian Ochoa-Menjivar with multiple stab wounds. She passed away inside the home; the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death a
homicide.
Detectives from JSO's Homicide Unit, along with District 2 Patrol and the Crime Scene Unit, immediately launched an investigation. Detectives quickly identified the victim’s son, Hector Munoz-Ochoa, 24, as the suspect in this case. Detectives arrested Munoz-Ochoa for his mother’s murder; he’s now behind bars in the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility (Duval County jail).
