Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing on Davis Road

A Jacksonville man is behind bars after detectives arrested him for stabbing his brother to death at a home on Davis Road.

 

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, District 6 patrol officers responded to a reported stabbing at a home on Davis Road near Finley Road in the Oceanway neighborhood. They found the victim, 30-year-old Ryan Daniels, bleeding on the front porch. Despite attempts to save Daniels’ life, he died at a local hospital.

Following a thorough investigation which included reviewing all available evidence and speaking to witnesses, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) detectives quickly identified 38-year-old Eric Mincey as Daniels’ attacker. Mincey and Daniels are brothers.

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, detectives arrested Mincey for murder. He is being held inside the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility (Duval County jail).
