On Monday, July 21, 2025, around 3:30 p.m., Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) District 6 patrol officers responded to a hit-and-run at the intersection of Wainwright Circle near Edgewood Avenue.
A Black female was crossing the street when the car hit her; the driver of that car did not stop. The woman died at the scene of the crash.
Detectives in JSO's Homicide, Traffic Homicide, SWAT, and Crime Scene Units conducted an extensive investigation. As a result, 42-year-old Durrell Bradley was identified as the suspect. Bradley was arrested earlier this month and is still in the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility (Duval County jail) facing a felony charge for leaving the scene of a deadly crash.
The deceased victim's identity is still unknown and JSO detectives are asking for the public's help. Anyone with information is asked to call 904.630.0500 or email
JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. Information can also be reported to First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1.866.845.TIPS.
