Gregg Gafford, 42, a former music teacher at multiple Duval County schools, has been arrested on a warrant for lewd and lascivious molestation.
Detectives in the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Special Assault Unit arrested Gafford in connection with two separate sexual crimes cases. Gafford was working at St. Matthew’s Catholic School on the Westside in 2023 when a child reported he groped them during an after-school club meeting.
Detectives also discovered another student accused Gafford of sexual abuse in 2011 while he was a teacher at Normandy Village Elementary.
On Friday, July 11, 2025, District 5 Task Force Officers located and arrested Gafford on two outstanding warrants.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office believes children are the most precious resource, and protecting children is a top priority. Anyone who violates a child’s safety will face the full weight of the law.
Detectives are investigating whether Gafford may have committed additional offenses against other students. The public is urged to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office by calling 904.630.0500 or emailing
