Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Campaign Reaffirms Commitment to Continued Support and Services
On Thursday, October 1, 2026, representatives from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, City of Jacksonville, the State Attorney's Office, Clerk of Courts, and regional criminal justice agencies joined with CEOs from local domestic violence shelters to hold a news conference to
raise awareness and show support.
In 2025, domestic violence claimed 21 lives in Duval County, including 10 deaths connected to intimate partner violence.
Beth is a powerful example of the hope that can follow a life of abuse. After surviving domestic violence at the hands of her ex-husband, Beth did the bravest thing she could do and left. She rebuilt her life. Today, she is getting remarried, pursuing her dream job, and thriving. Her story reminds everyone that survivors can find hope, rebuild, and create a future beyond abuse.
