In just 10 days, a pair of suspects carried out a series of violent armed robberies across Jacksonville. Now, they’re behind bars.
In June 2025, the robbers waited for the cashier to be alone then struck, holding the victim at gunpoint, emptying the register, and pepper spraying them before leaving. They didn’t stop there.
Using the same pattern, they hit multiple stores across Jacksonville, threatening employees, stealing cash, and using pepper spray on their victims as they escaped.
Detective Raquel Anderson with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit led the investigation, working tirelessly to stop the brazen attacks. She reviewed hours of store surveillance video, tracked leads, and partnered with the agency's Real Time Crime Center to identify a key piece of evidence.
That helped connect the dots, leading detectives to arrest Richard King, 25, and James Weaver, 38, for multiple counts of armed robbery. Both men are still in the Duval County jail as they face our justice system.
Recently, Detective Anderson was recognized as one of the agency's "Detective of the Month" honorees. Her efforts go beyond just this case, as she works to make Duval safer every day.
