Dealer Arrested for Manslaughter After Selling Drugs That Caused Overdose Death
A drug dealer was arrested for supplying the drugs that led to someone’s overdose death.
The investigation began in November, after a 61-year-old man passed away from an overdose. Over a nine-month period, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Overdose Investigations Unit worked tirelessly to identify who supplied the victim with the drugs. Detectives named 44-year-old Sean Coss as the suspect.
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, detectives with JSO's Overdose Investigations Unit conducted a search warrant on Coss’ home in the Deerwood area. Detectives found 28.8 grams of Powder Cocaine, 19.3 grams of Crack Cocaine, and 875.3 grams of Marijuana. Additionally, detectives found four handguns and $1,565 in cash.
Coss was arrested for Manslaughter as well as several different drug possession charges.
