20 Pounds of Marijuana, More than 8,600 Potentially Deadly Doses of Fentanyl Seized in Moncrief Bust
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) detectives removed more than 17 grams of fentanyl, 20 pounds of marijuana and various other drugs from the street after a bust in the Moncrief area.
The investigation began when detectives noticed drug activity at a house on West 21st Street and Moncrief Road. JSO Narcotics Unit detectives continued to investigate, build a case, and establish probable cause for a search.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, detectives along with JSO's SWAT Team served a search warrant at the house. The following was discovered:
- 17.2 grams of Fentanyl (More than 8,600 potentially deadly doses)
- 81.8 grams of Cathinone
- 33.4 grams of Methamphetamine
- 2.3 grams of Heroin
- 20.8 pounds of Marijuana
- A handgun and a rifle
- More than $500 in cash
As a result of what we found, detectives arrested 42-year-old Carlos Cooper. Cooper is a convicted felon with multiple drug charges in his past.
