Cold Case Spotlight: Arielle Trotter, Aryian Johnson and Quasean Trotter
January 17, 2024
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office continues to seek justice for crime victims and their loved ones, both past and present. This month's "Cold Case Spotlight" focuses on a triple murder that the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has classified as a cold case.
The hope is that this will lead to the identity of a suspect(s) responsible and in turn help bring closure to those impacted by this horrendous crime.

January’s spotlight is on 10-month-old Arielle Trotter (Black / Female), 19-year-old Ariyan Johnson (Black / Female), and 20-year-old Quasean Trotter (Black / Male).

On Tuesday, December 12, 2017, officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8900 block of India Avenue in the Arlington area alongside members from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department in reference to a house fire. Upon entry, all three of the victims’ bodies were located deceased inside the residence. The child had collapsed and died from smoke inhalation; the two adults were shot.

Homicide and Crime Scene Detectives began the process of collecting and examining the available evidence and continued following up leads extensively for years. During that time, potential leads were investigated; those leads have since ceased. Without further information from the public and witnesses this case has remained cold.

Anyone with any information related to this case is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904.630.0500 or email us at JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS or dial **TIPS (8477).
