On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, District 6 patrol officers responded to a quadruple shooting at an apartment complex on Cleveland Road. Three of those who were shot survived their injuries. Sadly, 18-year-old Marcus Thompson passed away from his gunshot wound.
JSO's Homicide Unit detectives launched an investigation. After several months of interviewing witnesses and examining evidence, detectives identified 22-year-old Samuel Chaney as the suspect.
