Enough Deadly Doses of Fentanyl to Kill Half of Jacksonville Seized in Brentwood Bust
Last month, members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Narcotics Unit received a tip that a home on West 27th Street in the Brentwood area was being used to distribute dangerous drugs to the downtown area.
Detectives used all the resources and tools available to them to build a case for a search warrant. Last week detectives served the search warrant with the help of the District 5 Task Force.
The search resulted in more than 1,200 grams of Fentanyl. To put that in perspective, that is enough to kill more than 600,000 people, more than half the entire population of Jacksonville.
Additionally, officers located:
- 1,387.2 grams of Cathinone
- 492.5 grams of Crack Cocaine
- 165.1 grams of Powder Cocaine
- 115.2 grams of Ecstasy
- 7.1 grams of Heroin
- 6.2 pounds of Marijuana
Additionally, detectives seized five firearms. One of those guns had been reported stolen; another had an illegal switch on it.
Five suspects were arrested and are facing felony charges:
- Bilal Ali (20)
- Yahya Ali (48)
- Tywanna Davenport (40)
- James Johnson (54)
- Alshawn Martin (47)
This drug house was near a church, a library, and Andrew Jackson High School.
