Man Arrested for Back-to-Back Murders
December 15, 2025
Curtis Asberry, 37, is facing two murder charges after he killed a man and a woman last month.

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) District 1 officers responded to reports there was a dead man along the side of East 15th Street near Phoenix Avenue. JSO investigators identified the victim as 27-year-old Maurice Solomon; the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide.

The next day, on Sunday, November 16th, a civilian flagged down District 4 officers to report finding a dead woman under a bridge along Blanding Boulevard. Officers went to the scene and found 35-year-old Tiffany Felton. The Medical Examiner’s Office also ruled her death a homicide.

JSO's Homicide detectives completed an extensive investigation, identifying Asberry as the suspect in both cases. The Community Problem Response Unit arrested Asberry on Monday, November 17th, one day after he killed Felton, on unrelated charges.

Detectives continued the investigation, building up evidence to receive a warrant for Murder for Asberry in both cases. On Friday, December 12, 2025, Asberry was charged with both Solomon’s and Felton’s murders.

Felton’s death was one of the cases where online outlets falsely claimed there was a serial killer in Jacksonville. Her case is not related to the other two women’s killings. One of those cases resulted in a murder arrest. The other is still an active investigation. These investigations take time, but the men and women of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are working hard to hold those responsible accountable.
