JSO Releases Statement in Reference to the Charles McCormick Murder Trial
On Friday, August 1, 2025, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released the following statement:
“Yesterday, two Jacksonville juries returned guilty verdicts for 1st Degree Murder against Leroy Whitaker and Hakeem 'Ksoo' Robinson for the brutal 2020 killing of Charles McCormick. The juries' conclusions are the result of diligent collaborative work between our agency and the State Attorney's Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida. JSO is grateful for the many hours of hard work of our detectives who put this case together and the incredible prosecutors who put these matters before juries. These verdicts evidence this agency's commitment to ending senseless violence in our community. Today, justice has been served.” -
