The 2025 – 2026 school year is officially here, which means school traffic is back, too. Recently, Traffic Enforcement Officer Kristy Monroe shared some important safety tips to help keep students and drivers safe.

Tips include:
- Slowing down in school zones
- Watching for pedestrians and crossing guards
- Stopping for school buses
- Putting phone(s) away while driving
Additionaly, parents are encouraged to exclude certain details from back-to-school photos posted on social media. It is okay to share first day of school, first name, and a future career goal. It is recommended to not to include: age, grade level, hobbies, school name and teacher's name.
