In October of last year, officers responded to a deadly shooting at a game room on the Westside. Ronald Matthews, 28, died in the shooting; two others were injured. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Homicide detectives immediately began the investigation into who was
responsible.
Two people were arrested as a result of the investigation: Petrios Britt, 27, and Cheneta Duffy, 33. Detectives continued to work the case to ensure everyone responsible in the shooting was held accountable. Through a partnership with First Coast Crime Stoppers, detectives received multiple tips that 25-year-old Quraan Goodman played a pivotal role in the murder.
Investigators used the tips and were able to build up a case against Goodman. Last month, an arrest warrant was issued for him and a few weeks later, the U.S. Marshals arrested Goodman. He’s now in the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility (Duval County Jail), facing Murder and Attempted Murder charges among other charges.
