Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Homicide detectives arrested the final suspect—the gunman—in a deadly shooting at a Westside game room in 2024. Trai’xon Smith, 25, is now behind bars, facing multiple felony charges including Murder and Attempted Murder.
In October 2024, patrol officers in District 5 responded to the deadly shooting. Ronald Matthews, 28, died in the shooting; two others were injured. JSO Homicide detectives immediately began the investigation into who was responsible.
The investigation revealed Smith was the gunman, but he did not act alone. Three others are facing felony charges in this case:
Quraan Goodman, 25; Petrios Britt, 27; and Cheneta Duffy, 33. All four suspects in this case are in jail.
