Get a Behind the Scenes Look into the Day-to-Day Operations at JSO

Apply today for the Spring 2023 Citizens Police Academy

Each year the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office offers Duval County residents an opportunity to learn how each division in the agency operates
and hear from representatives of each specialized unit, such as the Bomb Squad, Canine Unit and SWAT team. Class participants also tour the jail, prison and the gun range.*

There are two Citizens Police Academy classes scheduled to take place in 2023 and class sizes are limited. The class meets at 6 p.m. on Thursdays and includes three virtual classes held on Tuesday nights during the eight-week course.

The Spring 2023 Class is scheduled to start Thursday, March 9, 2023.
