The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) is proud to share that the Director of Patrol and Enforcement Mark Romano is the newest inductee into the University of North Florida’s Hall of Fame.
It was an extra special Sheriff’s Staff meeting before the holidays when University of North Florida (UNF) Athletic Director Nick Morrow and the Romano family stopped by to officially announce Director Romano’s honor. As you can see in the video, it was a surprise Director Romano was not expecting.
Before joining JSO in January 1997, Director Romano was a founding member of the UNF Men’s Soccer team. He served as team captain from 1993 to 1995. He’s the second highest scorer in UNF soccer history with 34 goals in his career. His brother holds the top spot.
The Romano family’s legacy at UNF continues, as Director Romano’s son continues to play for the Ospreys.
