Operation Checkmate: 33-Year-old Arrested for Soliciting "Teen Boy" for Sex Online
July 30, 2026 - Landon Cross, 33, was arrested earlier this month after he used an online platform to solicit who he thought was a teenage boy for sex during "Operation Checkmate," a multi-day operation targeting those using the internet to solicit children for sex.

July 28, 2026 - Just after 10 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, officers were dispatched to a call regarding a two-year-old boy who had been shot. The boy was rushed to the hospital, but he tragically lost his life.
