The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office uses police zones to help improve response times to calls for service, help patrol officers become more familiar with that area of the community, and help connect officers with citizens and businesses owners in their zones.
Duval County, Florida is comprised of six patrol zones not including the beaches where calls for service are handled by their local police departments. Each zone is broken down into sectors and sub-sectors to easily navigate and find neighborhoods within the community. If you are not sure of what zone your neighborhood is in JSO provides a mapping tool to help locate your zone. Why is this important? It helps you get involved with events in your area such as Sheriff’s Watch meetings and Crime Prevention Walks.
