JSO Celebrates Florida's Annual Crossing Guard Appreciation Day

On Friday, February 2, 2024, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office celebrated Florida's Annual "Crossing Guard Appreciation Day" by recognizing the men and women who fill these roles in Duval County. 
These individuals show up everyday, rain or shine, to greet the youngest members of the community and assist them in their journey to school.

School Crossing Guards are part-time employees who work two hours each day (one in the morning and one hour in the afternoon) and are assigned to roadways near elementary schools throughout the city.
