The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announces High Visibility Enforcement details funded through a contract from the Institute of Police Technology and Management in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).  This contract is specifically designed to pay for overtime traffic deployments focused on improving bicyclist and pedestrian safety.

Starting on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 through May 2024, JSO Officers will conduct High Visibility Enforcement details in high traffic areas throughout Duval County.  The goal of this enforcement effort is to increase awareness of and compliance with traffic laws that protect the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists.

Enforcement efforts will focus primarily on educating drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists.  However, violations may result in warnings or citations depending on the circumstances. (Posted December 6, 2023)
